In January 2010, the Ukrainian office TMP-Ukraine has signed an agreement to be part of the JPA International Network. This new member will be a high-quality support for any company which is interested in doing business with Ukraine.
This office is composed by two partners: Richard Muszynski and Sofia Tokar, and 3 more staff. TMP-Ukraine is mainly working with international companies. The team is multilingual, they speak Ukrainian, Russian, English and French.

On the 3rd of December, the Arkan and Ergin office, member of JPA International in Turkey, organized a special cocktail « Towards 2010 » on the occasion of its official adhesion to the network.

More than 200 people from business, finance and diplomatic spheres attended this event. Were notably present Mr Hervé Magro, Consul General of the French Ambassy in Istanbul and Mr Massum Turker, President of the TÜRMOB (Board of Accountancy in Turkey), making this cocktail a significant event of this end of the year 2009 for the Turkish and international business communities!

This party gave an opportunity to a number of personalities involved in the development of the French-Turkish economic relationships to meet and to exchange on future projects of cooperation.

« Objectif 2010 »

Le 3 décembre dernier, le cabinet Arkan and Ergin, membre de JPA International en Turquie, a organisé une grande réception « Objectif 2010 » à l’occasion de son entrée officielle dans le réseau.

Plus de 200 personnes venant du monde de l’entreprise, de la finance et de la diplomatie y ont assisté, dont Monsieur Hervé Magro, Consul général de l’Ambassade de France à Istanbul et Monsieur Massum Turker, Président TÜRMOB (Board de la Comptabilité en Turquie), faisant de ce cocktail un évènement significatif de cette fin d’année 2009 pour les communautés d’affaires turque et internationale !

Cette soirée a notamment permis à de nombreuses personnalités actives dans le développement des relations économiques franco-turques de se rencontrer et d’échanger sur de futurs projets de coopération.

Jacques Potdevin, Chairman of JPA International, appointed at the IFAC Board for 3 years

On 18th November 2009, the IFAC* Council appointed Jacques Potdevin as a member of the Board** for 3-year mandate.
IFAC international institution groups together 123 countries and more than 157 institutions of accountants and auditors. At this position, Jacques Potdevin, representative of the French accounting institute, will be in charge of contributing to the strengthening of the action of the accounting profession at the world-wide level in order to serve the transparency and public interest. This stake is crucial since the matter of the international standards and governance are decisive in a globalized world, as the current debates show it in accounting normalization, especially regarding the question of "fair value".
Jacques Potdevin, who succeeds at this place William Nahum, will put his experience of international to the service of IFAC :

The challenge for IFAC is to make the settlment of harmonized audit standards and Code of Ethics easier, to the advantage of general interest on international markets.

* IFAC is the worldwide organization of the accounting profession. It works with its 157 members and partners in 123 countries in order to protect the general interest by encouraging accountants from all over the world to implement high quality practices. The members and the partners , which are mainly national organizations of accountants, gather all together 2.5 millions of accountants working in accounting offices, industry, trade, public administration and universities.
**The IFAC Board, which groups 21 members from 18 countries, is in charge of the coordination and the implementation of the IFAC programs, the Code of Ethics and Education and Accounting standards for the public sector.

Appointment of Inge Saeys at the IFAC
Inge Saeys, Member of the "Conseil de l’IRE", was appointed at the Small and Medium Practices Committee of the IFAC. Her mandate will start on 1st January 2010 and will last three years. The Small and Medium Practices (SMP) Committee represents the professionals who practice in small and medium size offices as well as professionals who offer their services to small and medium companies.
